The School Improvement Plan (SIP) provides a written framework that identifies what West Tytherley CE Primary School will do to fulfil its published aims and its statutory obligations.

The School has identified the below key priorities for improvement and these will be developed over a two year period from 2017 – 2019.

Quality of teaching, learning & assessment

  • Share and reinforce our school culture and expectations for teaching & learning
  • Raise standards for all children by improving the quality of teaching and learning
  • Further improve the quality of provision and teaching in Computer Science
  • Create an enquiring classroom to open up children's learning through the exploration of ideas
  • Continue to develop our curriculum that makes good use of outdoor learning

Effectiveness of leadership and management

  • Improve the effectiveness of Subject Leaders across the school
  • Ensure Senior Leaders strengthen their strategic role in order to raise standards
  • Continue to engage and communicate with parents and the community

Personal development, behaviour & welfare

  • Embed positive learning behaviours in Building Learning Power
  • Promote the school vision with children, staff and parents
  • Further enhance opportunities for pupils to develop responsibility and demonstrate leadership skills
  • Enhance pupils' social interaction and quality of 'play'
  • Further raise the profile of sport related activities across the school
  • Enhance our collective worship programme
  • Inrtroduce and implement philosophy for children across the school

Outcomes for Pupils

  • Ensure that the curriculum is responsive to the needs of the learners
  • Ensure that the curriculum challenge 'more able' learners and provides opportunities to extend into greater depth
  • To increase the proportion of pupils who make expected progress from their starting points, in line with or above national.
  • To improve progress and outcomes for all disadvantaged pupils
