Family Forum

What is the Family Forum?

The Family Forum is a group of parent representatives, school leaders and governors who meet regularly throughout the year to discussed various ideas.  We are a change team - sharing views of parents and considering how we might make changes that improve what we offer to our children and families.

Your Views Count

We value the views of all parents and to help you contribute to this process, we have an online suggestion form.  There is no need to register and it can be totally anonymous.  Just simply use the link below, write your suggestion and submit the online form.

Our Aims and Protocol

  • Promote effective lines of communication between different groups in the school community.
  • Enhance our sense of community and strengthen links with stakeholders
  • Create a forum to raise questions, suggestions and ideas and to give constructive feedback.
  • Consider the needs of the students, from the unique point of view of parents/carers
  • Provide opportunities for parents to contribute to the school’s development.

  • Discussions should involve constructive comments, with the aim of moving the school forward for the benefit of all stakeholders.
  • Individuals will not be named – staff, children, parents or governors.
  • Views expressed will represent those of the majority rather than individuals.

Specific responsibilities would involve:

  • circle_of_trust_family_forum.jpgAsking other parents/carers for suggestions for the meetings, collate them and submit to the school by a pre-determined date.
  • Being a point of reference for the class teacher when requiring volunteers for a particular event or activity.
  • Liaising with new families and make them feel welcome.
  • Presenting views of parents/carers within meetings and giving feedback to parents/carers after the meetings. Meetings will be held on a half-termly basis.
