Year 6 Bikeability

Bikeability training starts on the school playground and is designed to ensure that each young person is competent, safe and can control their bike, before entering the road environment. If children can demonstrate competence at all of the Level 1 outcomes on the playground, they can then move onto the Level 2 syllabus. For the Level 2 course, children spend the sessions on the roads in the surrounding area to the school.

If a rider is absent for the initial assessment at Level 1 then they will be given the opportunity to be assessed before their group moves out on to the road. However, if a student misses the first on-road training session (Level 2) then unfortunately it is unlikely that they will be able to participate in the remaining sessions for safety reasons, due to the amount of delivery content that will have been missed.

Our Bikeability instructors have the nationally recognised instructor qualification, are fully insured, First Aid trained and DBS checked.
